Garden Orchestra
One thing we wanted to try out for G302 is to record some live instruments track outdoors, with the environment sounds. For this track, we tested a few places and decided not to do so. When we recorded the guitar outdoors, the guitar sounded very thin, as though there is no body sound to the guitar. Thus, we recorded them indoors.

For this track I’ve explored the concept of sampling in both instruments as well as found sounds.
From the earlier stages, I was glad that I get to borrow out the Tenori-On machine with the help of B is for BUS previous project’s mentor, Luke Chen. Patches from the sequencer itself was sampled and processed with use of software Sound Forge 7.0.

Script for "Rinse your mouth" (Dental track)
We made an appointment with Poh Hong’s dentist the day after tomorrow for a scaling session. I was looking at some YouTube videos where parents uploaded videos of their child’s dental visit and picking out the common words and phrases the dentist would say to a child.
Let’s pray that the one shot recording will work and that the dentist would follow our script:

COMPLETED: 0 credit left [Insert Coin(s)]
Went to Tampines Mall, Century Square and White Sands to record their arcade ambience last week.
Converted the original mix to mono, added reverb and boosted bass to make it sit properly as part of the arcade ambient. The end of the tracks was pitch bent to signify game over and a boy shouting “Wa Lau” was deliberately placed right after the pitch bent.

Upon the contemplating the previous drafts, I felt it only fair for me to gain a fuller perspective on how it feels exactly to be afraid of going to the dentist. I read up of several resources and surveys in relation to this idea of ’Dentophobia’.

Sounds like YMCK - KORG DS 10!!!
Our arcade track ‘0 credit left [Insert coin(s)]’ is near completion! I did 2 solo improv on my DS 10 with audio examples above and I’m gonna use the second one.
The idea is to let our arcade track flow to a climax (picture the character takes a power pill) with that kaoss effect dominating the track before the game ends when the character clears the stage.

arcade track arranged!
Took some time off to sit down and arrange this track. I was listening to YMCK for inspiration and found out that one of the sounds they used can be emulated using the new KORG DS-10 kaoss effect on Nintendo DS.
Poh Hong and Amos both agreed that the kaoss effect element needs to be in the track in order to enhance the gaming environment.

Choir Track aka "Iku Sensei Teaches a Song"
This was the first track that our team has done. We went to the Salvation Army to get an album of a Japanese children choir. We heard a song and took notes of the highest note that the chidren song. Having this, we started to write our song with the highest note in mind.

Alternatively, we can use our own head - this would be a bit tough because we have to put lavalier mics into our ears, and with it pointing outwards.
